As the sun continues its transit through Gate 14, embodying the archetype of the Prosperity Lumen, here is my contemplation on gate 14 and what it takes to create prosperity.

Gate 14 is undefined in my chart and as a Projector, so is my sacral center.

When I am unconscious of my energy boundaries, I can easily get caught up in the sacral energy of the people around me and amplify it. And, let me tell you, when someone is on the “high” end of the spectrum, that experience is amazing. But when they are on the “low” end, not so much.

My experience is that, as a society, most people are on the low end of the gate 14 spectrum. There is so, so, so much bound up in our relationship to money. Money, while originally intended as an easy way to exchange value, has become synonymous with safety, security, and sustenance.

Which means that, collectively, in an attempt to stay safe, secure, and fed, we have tucked our purpose away and are exchanging the precious moments of our lives for money. And, on the flip side of that, we are also told that money can't buy happiness or that it isn't "spiritual" to want money.

We get messages to those effects in the Human Design Map portal all the time.

Money seems to be a huge point of contention when learning to trust ourselves and becoming more authentic in our lives. We "need" the money and we deeply believe that staying where we are is the safest thing to do. And we beat ourselves up - feeling selfish, guilty, and unevolved - for even caring about it

It's tricky. Nuanced. And feels incredibly complex. Maybe even hopeless.

I get it.

I was raised in poverty, scarcity, and lack. It's like the stress of it is encoded into my cells. And, yet, I was also raised to believe that money was the root of all evil and that wanting more money proved I was a "bad" person (in the eyes of God).

And I've felt those same conflicted feelings. I've desperately needed more money to pay my bills. While simultaneously feeling shameful for believing that money would solve all my problems.

I've heard similar stories inside the map portal as well. People tell me things like:

• There isn’t a way to make money doing what I love.
• I have to be responsible. If I did what I love, I’d be broke.
• I don't want to prioritize making money over my authenticity but I do. And I hate it.

Some people are even drawn into Human Design from the false promise that "living your design" will make you rich. Which is so ironic because Ra Uru Hu, the original channeler of the Human Design System, taught that the we make money through our not self.

Personally, I don't subscribe to either of those beliefs. The whole concept of "living your design" is marketing. Period. And the idea that we can only make money through the not self is simply a projection of the spiritual idea that money is evil.

Like I said before, it's complicated. There are markers in the Human Design chart that can help us explore our relationship to money. And it also offers us insights and tools for becoming more authentic.

But, ultimately, creating prosperity begins with being radically honest with ourselves about our internal patterns with money and work. It's about looking at our:

• values and how aligned our financial habits of earning, spending, and investing are with those values
• sense of self worth and owning the value we bring to "the market."
• capacity for expansion and receiving. Does it feel safe to experience true abundance?
• resourcefulness and trusting ourselves to tap into it, no matter the bottom line.
• level of responsibility for our outcomes and willingness to let go of blame.
• relationship with pressure and how discerning we are in leveraging it correctly.
• where we have unconscious internalized oppression and our relationship with power
• codependency and hanging our hopes on a savior.
• faith, trust, and belief.

And, probably some things I'm not even aware of. But, what I know for sure is that as we explore and find Truth, making a change is necessary. Even if it is teeny tiny.

You don't need to burn your whole life down. In fact, in the MAP Method for Deconditioning (which is included with the Human Design Map), I recommend micro changes and deliberate expansion of your capacity to make uncomfortable changes. A plane that shifts 1° ends up in an entirely different place.

As we do that internal work, the outer world will change. It can only be that way.

What choice can you make – TODAY – to start moving closer and closer to a prosperous future? One that is steeped in satisfaction, success, peace, and delight?
